Agra is a city in Northern India in the Utter Pradesh State. Agra is on the Yomuma River. The city was made Northern India’s capital by King Sikander Lodi.  Agra has the famous Taj Mahal and other outstanding buildings such as Jahangri Mahal, a palace of white marble.
    Mughal's emperor, Shah Jahan, made the Taj Mahal as a memorial to his wife. He loved her very much. The work started in 1634 and continued for almost 22 years. The Taj Mahal is made of  white marble. The Taj Mahal the is most famous buliding in the world.  He made this magnificent memorial so that it would shine brightly on a full moon night.  After they finished the building, Shah Jahan cut the workers hands off because he did not want it to be made again anywhere by anyone. The Taj Mahal is a beautiful building of India.
