Olga Lozkhin Easter In The Ukraine     In the Ukraine Easter celebrates in the middle of spring. Easter means cleaning-- the victory of the clean over the unclean, of good over evil.
    In the Ukraine Easter is the biggest holiday.  Christians bake breads and cook eggs. On the Saturday night, they go to church and bring eggs and breads to the church. They believe  after church they have to eat all the food, and they will be clean.
    For Easter, Christians make special eggs. They are solid-colored cooked eggs. People call tham "krashnky".  Eggs symbolize fertility, spring, and everything good.  The Special Easter  breads Christians call "pysanky".
          On SundayChristians have a big dinner with Easter eggs and bread
     Easter is abig holiday in Ukraine, but Easter it is more religen then traditions. The Christians celebrets Eastern as most important day in the Church year.
