The Festivals have great  importance in the whole world. In  India there are many  festivals, such as  Holi (festival of colors) Makar skranti , Dashahra,  Raksha Bandhan,  Diwali. Holi it is the most popular festival. To celebrate this festival of colors, people throw the colored water and rub the face of one another with powder called Gulal.                               Diwali  is the most important festival of  the Hindu’s  it is like Christmas  to the Hindus. It is celebrate for three days. It is a  festival of  lights, sweets, and  fireworks. It is celebrated  in honor of lord  Rama’s  return  to Ayodhya (city in U. P. in India). After fourteen years of  his  exile, people were mad  with joy.   They illuminated  their houses.   Every year Diwali comes during the month of  Kartika and day of  Amavasa (last week on October or the first week in Nov.) It is celebrate for three days. 
The Preparation for the celebration  starts  many  days . There is dusting and cleaning in every house. Houses are and  shops  white   washed,  painted and ,decorated.  Many shops of people buy sweets, earth ware (made of clay), crackers, sparklers, calendars, flowers and other  decoration  pieces. People exchanged  greetings and  send sweets to other friends and relatives. At  night, The whole city is brightly lit up with multicolored electric tubes and  bulbs. Everything looks fresh and gay. People put on nice clothes; children play with crackers and sparklers.  The first day of Diwali  Dhanteras  (name of day) for the advent of Laxshmi (the goddess of wealth,). Home are cleaned, and floors are decorates with colorful designs, called Rangoli on  This day women  make desserts (called Sanjori)  special for Diwali  The second day Rupchoidas  (a black night) a dark night. people rise before sunrise to kill all demons and  prayer of god  This day also celebrate because people believe that Narkasura ( a bad  guy) was destroyed by Krishna( god of Hindu). The third day is the day of Diwali .This day people worship the god of  Ganesha, Lakshmi ,and Sarsvti  for wealth of nature,l onglife, fame ,and fortune. After the worship, children do fireworks. This festival is also The beginning of  the Hindu New Year.
